Call for Expressions of Interest – Sustainable Water Solutions for the Cosmetics Industry
Context
As part of its mission to accelerate innovation and the ACTT4Cosmetics* program, COSMETIC VALLEY and its European partners are launching a Call for Expressions of Interest (EOI) focused on water-related innovation.
The goal is to support innovative projects that improve the preservation, management, and valorization of water across the cosmetics value chain.
Objectives of the Call

Foster the development of innovative solutions for sustainable water management applicable to all sectors of the cosmetics industry.

Promote collaboration between startups, SMEs, research labs, and industrial players.

Identify high-potential projects for support in accessing regional, national, or European funding opportunities (e.g., Water4All 2025).

Map existing water solutions applicable to cosmetic industry processes.
Eligible Topics (non-exhaustive list):

Reducing water consumption in industrial processes.

Recycling and reusing wastewater.
-
Water-free or low-water formulations.
-
Water treatment, purification, filtration, and disinfection technologies.

Smart sensors for real-time water quality monitoring.
-
Nature-Based Solutions (NBS) for water management.
-
Tools for monitoring the impact of climate change on industrial water resources.

Valorization of water as an active cosmetic ingredient (e.g., floral waters, thermal waters).
Eligibility Criteria

Project or technology must be innovative and directly related to water management.

Minimum maturity level: Proof of Concept (PoC).

Willingness to collaborate with other stakeholders from within or outside the cosmetics industry.
Support Offered

Access to a national and European network of academic and industrial partners.

Participation in webinars and networking events to form consortia and validate solutions.

Opportunity to co-organize a technical day to showcase technologies and projects to the cosmetics ecosystem.

A first webinar to present selected innovative water solutions will take place on November 4, 2025.
